IDC Communications
IDC Wholesale Inc., which operates as IDC Communications Group, was incorporated in 1991. The name IDC originated from the location of the first offices of the company, which were set up near Ile des Chenes, just south of Winnipeg. David Penner, MaryAnn Penner, Ingrid Plett and Lorne Plett, who remain the principles of the company, started IDC in the early days of cellular communication. IDC has experienced significant growth as the wireless communications industry has expanded. As MTS’ largest dealer, IDC Communications has demonstrated the highest level of excellence in sales and customer service. It is the ultimate goal of IDC to continue to service all of our customers at the superior levels that we have demonstrated, while at the same time continuing with the growth and expansion that we have experienced since being awarded with this accomplishment. OPERATIONSIDC currently employs a staff of over 80 with 7 locations including Head Office. Of these employees, we have 8 major account representatives to service our corporate customer base. IDC is one of the few select dealers authorized by Globalstar to sell, service and distribute the complete line of Satellite products, including handsets, accessories and wireless data modems.

Our employees have a varied background of experience in the communications industry. While we have individuals that specialize in certain areas, every one of our sales people have the ability and training to sell all of the products that we offer. We employ four (4) full time service technicians for prompt diagnosis and repair. This service is provided at our Head Office location, or on-site as required. TRAININGIDC is dedicated to having the best-trained staff in the Province of Manitoba. As a result, we are the only MTS dealer to implement an in-house training department devoted to continually educating our staff in all lines of business. This proactive approach puts us in the best position to be prepared for changes in what has proven to be a rapidly evolving industry. Our training program will ensure that all of the employees are confident, which creates a positive environment.
