Boost Customer Traffic

With the rapidly increasing number of professionals and consumers alike seeking places to connect to their email or surf the web, just imagine the possibilities for your business. A Wi-Fi Hotspot is a location-based service that drives customers to your location. The effect is similar to having an ATM at your location.

Increase Customer Loyalty

Keep your best customers coming back for more with the value-added benefits of Wi-Fi access at your location. Customer can be more productive at your location because of the Wi-Fi access. Providing additional services is a key differentiator versus your competitors. Stand out from the competition by being among the first to host an MTS Wi-Fi Hotspot that offers blazing fast wireless Internet access.

Get MTS Advertising & Marketing Support

MTS Wi-Fi Hotspots are supported by MTS marketing and advertising resources. Our large existing base of High Speed Internet customers (Business & Consumer) will be prime candidates for this new service. As an MTS Wi-Fi Hotspot, you will receive free marketing collateral which will include attractive posters, tent cards, window decals and more. Your location will be advertised and promoted by MTS as a Wi-Fi Hotspot to further boost traffic to your business.

Is there a cost to my business to become a Wi-Fi Hotspot?

There are a number of factors that will determine cost, such as consumer demand, size, and the locations of your business. MTS is in the first phase of deploying Wi-Fi Hotspot technology in partnership with various locations across the province. These locations have been strategically chosen to host Hotspots and depending on how well your location aligns with the direction of the MTS Wi-Fi Hotspot deployment, costs can vary. Your sales representative will be able to provide more information on costs related to your business.

Who Installs the MTS Wi-Fi network?

MTS technical experts will handle all aspects of the Wi-Fi installation.

Will my business be disrupted while you are installing the Wi-Fi equipment?

A typical install requires a site survey to determine where the equipment needs to be installed. The Internet and gateway equipment can usually be installed in the telephone equipment room and in many cases, this is all that is required. In some instances additional Wi-Fi Hotspot access point equipment will need to be installed to increase coverage. This will require wiring to be installed, if not already available, and the Wi-Fi Hotspot equipment to be secured to the wall or ceiling.

Will the Wi-Fi equipment impact my decor?

Our equipment is very small - it easily hides away under the counter or into a small cabinet. If you require extra coverage, we may need to install a small antenna, but we will install it in as low-profile a location as possible.

Who is responsible for maintenance?

MTS and our FatPort partners are responsible for maintaining the Wi-Fi Hotspot at your location. If there is a technical issue (ie. The Wi-Fi equipment or the network is not working) you can call our Wi-Fi Vendor Support line at 1-866-328-7678. If your customers are experiencing problems with their Wi-Fi account, they will be directed to call our Wi-Fi Customer Support line at 1-866-402-9434.
