Manitoba's hometown communications solutions provider is proud to outfit Fringe staff and volunteers with wireless devices and service.

WINNIPEG, July 14 /CNW/ - MTS is pleased to announce its role as the official communications solutions provider of the 2010 Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival ("Fringe"). Since 1999, MTS has proudly supported the Fringe. This year, Fringe staff and volunteers will be supported by MTS wireless devices, network access and wireless service.

"MTS understands the important role the arts play in our culture and economy. Each year, MTS supports more than 20 community festivals across the province," said Kelvin Shepherd, President, MTS. "For 32 years, the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival has been one of Manitoba's most popular and entertaining summer festivals. MTS is happy to contribute to the success of this tremendous family festival for the eleventh year in a row."

Happening from July 14 to 25, the Fringe will bring theatre troupes and performers from around the globe to Winnipeg to perform 1,200 shows at 25 venues in just 12 days. Staff and volunteers will stay connected during the festival using MTS products and services. The Fringe main stage, located in Old Market Square in the heart of Winnipeg's Exchange District, will be named the MTS Outdoor Stage in recognition of MTS's support. Dozens of performances, including "Kids Fringe," will take place on the MTS Outdoor Stage.

"We are very grateful for the support of local businesses such as MTS. Through sponsorship and donations we are able to grow and improve the Fringe each year," said Deborah Axelrod, Festival Coordinator, Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival. "Thanks to MTS, our staff and volunteers will be connected at all times, an integral part of running a successful festival of this size and scope."
